In the portal, logbook violations can be checked by navigating to ELD > Violations. You can filter your results by selecting a driver and date range at the top, then select Apply Filters. By default, the page will show all the whole fleet for the current calendar month. For Solo devices, you will have to Sync the driver’s key for violations to be displayed in the portal.
Violations are calculated when a duty status ends, so if a driver incurs a violation and is still in Driving status, notification will not be available until he changes his duty status again.
In the event that an Hours of Service violation is detected, you can check the Driver’s logbook to confirm the violation. You can print out the logs for the day in violation and then review the violation with the Driver. To ensure compliance, Fleet managers should regularly audit driver logs to check for ways drivers might squeeze in more driving time. Drivers need to understand the law and how it can protect them, and fleet managers need to watch for these violations to maintain compliance.
