From the device home screen, select the Inspection/More button.
You will be taken to the Driver Menu where you will see more options.
In the Driver Options menu, you are able to take exemptions, log Pre Login and Post Logout activities, change your hours of service regulations, recover logs, and check on unidentified driving, if there is any recorded by the ELD.
Take Exemption – this is where drivers can take 4 of the available exemptions. It is best practice to enter an annotation before starting the exemption.
- Emergency Conditions - Emergency conditions are declared by the President, state governors, and/or the FMCSA. If an official federal or state institution has not acknowledged an emergency state, the exemption is not applicable.
- Adverse Driving Conditions - This exemption only works when the adverse driving conditions could not have been known before the start of a drive. Circumstances include weather changes, such as unexpected fog, snow, or the closure of a road due to unforeseen events, like an accident.
- 16 Hour Extension - Only drivers who qualify for the 100 air-mile radius provision or the 150 air-mile radius provision are eligible for the short-haul exception and can extend the 14-hour driving window to 16-hours.
- 30 Minute Break - drivers who qualify for the 150 air-mile radius provision and operate non-CDL vehicles are exempt from the 30-minute break rule. To qualify requirements must be met in Section 395. 1 (e) of FMCSA HOS Regulations
Drivers also have the ability to insert a pre/post login activity. Used when driver performs compensated work for the fleet prior to logging in the ELD (such as a car wash).
The Driver Logout option will log you out of the device.
In the Roadside Inspection menu you can print or transfer the inspection logs of your choice.
And finally in settings you are able to adjust brightness in the display menu, perform diagnostics, turn the volume on and off, change the language on the device, or learn more information about the device.
